Closed 4 Service
For the fourth consecutive year, First Baptist Church will be closed for service this Sunday, May 20th. We will meet at 9:00am for a brief gathering to pray before heading out to work throughout Downtown Bend. Afterwards, we will come back to the church for a BBQ and fellowship!
The nursery will be open during the service and throughout the entire work-project time.

 Seniors Malheur Trip
Annual Malheur birding trip is May 22-25. We will be staying at the Steens Mt. Resort where there are RV spaces and cabins available. To sign–up, please contact Ralph and Phyllis Wodtli at 541-317-5818 or Bob and Loretta Powell at 541-382-7218 or bpowell@coinet.com.

 Zumba Cancelled
There will be no Zumba class on Wednesday, May 23.

 Baptism Class
For those of you who are interested in being baptized, there will be a baptism class Sunday, May 27 at 9:00am in the Conference Room (office).

 Starting Point Reception
If you are new to First Baptist Church, we invite you to our Starting Point Reception on Sunday, June 3, following the service in the Gathering Place (by the east entrance). At Starting Point, you will have a chance to meet the staff, enjoy refreshments and get an overview of the mission of First Baptist Church.
We value your time, so expect this reception to last no more than 30 minutes. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to marie@fbcbend.org.

 FBC Book Club
First Baptist Church’s Book Club – No Page Unturned – is official! Their first book selection is Wild Swans. Start reading now and come discuss with us on June 2nd at 10:00am. We will be reading secular books to widen our worldview, so feel free to invite non-Christian friends to this non-threatening book club.

 Vacation Bible School
Get ready for a high-flying adventure with SKY, this year’s VBS program! Our flight plan has us taking off June 25 – 29, 1pm–4pm. We are in need of more workers, so if you would like to be part of the fun, contact Shawna Mengle or at 382-3862. Online registration is now open!!

Moms and Munchkins
A place for kids to play and moms to connect!
When: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the summer months (starting June 5th) from 10:30-12:30
Where: Kindi Vaughan's backyard (61051 Borden Dr.)
What: lots of outdoor fun, crafts, snacks, and water play
What to bring: sunscreen, swim suits, packed lunches

Pray for our Closed for Service outreach this coming Sunday
Pray for David and Carolyn Salseth, our missionaries with international students in Portland. David is on a medical sabbatical.
Pray for David Butler and Steve Martin. Both are recovering from surgery.
Pray for Pastor Viktor, our Russian friend and pastor in Vangazi, Latvia. He suffered a serious heart attack Easter Sunday.
Pray for Steve and Janine Toomey who are in Latvia this week encouraging our brothers and sisters. They will be returning this week.
Pray for our local, state, and national leaders
Pray for our local ministries including: the Shower Truck, Family Kitchen, Shepherd's House, Food Pantry, Homeless Camps, and the upcoming Closed 4 Service.
