First Baptist offers a wide variety of ministry opportunities for women. We will help you connect with other women in the church, challenge you to grow in your relationship with God and assist you in serving other believers and the community.

We believe that the first step in discipleship is to Connect to Christ and His Church. This happens through worship and fellowship.
Adult Connecting Ministry involves events focused on men, women and at times more age specific groups such as our seniors.
Men's Ministry
"...entrust to faithful men, who will also be able to teach other men..."
First Baptist Church believes the best defense is "man to man," so we encourage each man to become involved in the Men's Ministry.

Philosophy of Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry Purpose Statement:
“Our ministry is committed to INTRODUCING non-believing youth to the unconditional love of Jesus Christ, to GUIDING Christian youth toward Biblical maturity, and to CHALLENGING the mature to discover and fulfill God’s purpose for their life of ministry.”
A General Philosophy of Ministry
Today's youth have so many needs, perhaps now more than ever before, as a result of the numerous barriers they face every day of their lives. Broken and dysfunctional homes are no longer a rarity and the daily peer pressures they encounter everyday would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. Youth are also passing through some of the most important times in their developmental stages. They are at an age where they begin searching for answers regarding personal identity, meaning, acceptance, purpose and hope. Therefore, it is my goal as a Youth Pastor to create an environment that will facilitate their growth spiritually, socially, emotionally, cognitively, etc. I firmly believe a good youth program will and must be balanced in which it seeks to reach the various levels of growth and maturity taking place among today’s youth.
As a Youth Pastor, I feel my obligation within the church can be summed up with these areas of responsibility: I will work together with the church leadership, youth staff, youth, and parents in order to accomplish the following objectives:
As a Youth Pastor, I feel my obligation within the church can be summed up with these areas of responsibility: I will work together with the church leadership, youth staff, youth, and parents in order to accomplish the following objectives:
I. Develop and challenge the youth spiritually
>>The youth ministry will have a spiritual focus which is dedicated toward developing the youth spiritually. The youth group is not mere a place to “baby-sit” the youth. It must have an eternal perspective.
Some specific ways to develop youth are:
Some specific ways to develop youth are:
- Nurture obedience towards God through a personal relationship with Christ (1 John 5:1-3; Rom. 6:17-18). We (the youth pastor & youth staff) will stimulate our youth to embrace Christ as Lord of their lives, resulting in obedience to Him.
- Teaching the Word of God (2Tim. 4:1-5; Acts 2:42). We rely on the authority of God’s Word and are dedicated to teaching our youth Biblical truth.
- To evangelize and disciple youth (Matt. 28:19-20). We will train our youth on “why” and “how” to witness, and will also give them opportunities to develop their evangelism skills.
- To build unity and encourage fellowship (Acts 2:14-47; Phil. 2:2; Heb 10:23-25). As we encourage the youth to develop unity with Christ, unity will also develop in the youth group.
- To encourage worship (Rom. 12:1; Jn. 4:24; 1Chr. 16:29). Man’s chief end is to glorify God and worship Him in truth, and we will give our youth the opportunities to freely express worship towards their creator.
- To aid parents (Eph. 6:1-3) We respect the wishes of parents and are dedicated to building channels of support for them
- Discovery and use of spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12, 14; Eph. 4:7-13) We will help youth discover, develop and use their spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.
II. Minister to the Youth
>>The youth ministry will be active in meeting the needs of the youth.
Some specific ways to minister to youth are:
Some specific ways to minister to youth are:
- To get to know youth on a personal level by developing relationships with them. This requires a lot of time, energy and work.
- To become identified with the youth without becoming just like the youth. We will strive to give the youth a Christ-like example for them to follow.
- To demonstrate unconditional and sacrificial love to them. We will love them regardless of their age, maturity, fears, joys, and problems (Rom. 5:8).
- To function in Jesus’ place by ministering through the power of the Holy Spirit. We will serve the youth as they truly are, not as we hope they might be (Jn. 20:21; Mk. 10:45)
III. Share the Vision of the Church
>>The youth ministry will work with the entire church body in a unified manner with the purpose of reaching non-believers and believers in the community.
Some specific ways we can share the vision of the church are:
Some specific ways we can share the vision of the church are:
- To assist in developing both the youth as well as the youth staff to become leaders within the church body.
- As an extension of the local church, we will seek to minister to the church and be ministered to by the church (Gal. 3:28; Eph. 4:2-6).
